If Sri Lanka is on your travel bucket list, there's good news: Emirates is increasing seat capacity between Dubai and Colombo by 30 percent. From January 2, 2025, you can benefit from an additional connection that will be offered almost daily - with the exception of Wednesdays.
Sri Lanka: A dream destination for travelers
Sri Lanka is a place of longing for many, and travelers from the United Arab Emirates are also increasingly drawn to the country. In order to meet the growing demand, Emirates will be flying the route between Dubai and Colombo even more frequently from January. For you as a traveler from the DACH region, this will also create more opportunities to get to Sri Lanka via Dubai.
Your new flight options
The additional flights will initially take off with a Boeing 777, which offers space for a total of 360 passengers. If you are looking for a particularly comfortable travel experience, there are eight First Class suites or 42 Business Class seats available. Of course, there is also a spacious Economy Class.
Flight times until March 31, 2025:
- EK 654: Dubai (10:05 a.m.) - Colombo (4:00 p.m.)
- EK 655: Colombo (22:05) - Dubai (01:05 the following day)
From April 1, 2025, modern Airbus A350 aircraft will be used and there will be seven flights per week with slightly adjusted times:
- EK 654: Dubai (13:20) - Colombo (19:15)
- EK 655: Colombo (22:05) - Dubai (00:55 the following day)
What does that mean for you?
The additional flights give you more flexibility when planning your trip. This is particularly practical if you are departing from an airport in the DACH region such as Frankfurt, Munich or Zurich: With an uncomplicated transfer in Dubai, you can get to Colombo quickly and comfortably.
